The ANU Persian Society held an evening of Nowruz celebrations on Saturday 22 March. The evening included dance performances, readings of Hafez poems, a dinner at University House which was followed by Persian music and dancing. There was an overwhelming demand for tickets to this popular event which was attended by the wider Canberra Persian community as well as the student population.
The table setting or Haft Seen for Nowruz (pictured above) is a feature of the celebrations that signifies 'new life'.
CAIS staff would like to offer their best wishes for New Year to all members of the Persian community.
