The proposed doctoral research addresses a notable literary and methodological gap regarding the study of societal-level integration, and in doing so will explore to what extent and manner a worldview-based framework provides an effective model for analysing societal participation and inclusion (SP&I) among religiously diverse Australians.
Worldviews influence one’s perspectives, motivations, decision making and behaviour and as such this pioneering study will quantitatively and qualitatively analyse how certain SP&I outcomes, across its various dimensions, relate to particular characteristics of empirically derived worldview typologies.
By advancing this cross-disciplinary framework, the study aims to contribute an innovative analytical lens to sociological inquiry and related disciplines, including the means to better understand such complex societal phenomena and provide insights to inform policy interventions regarding the fostering of cohesive, participatory and inclusive societies.
