Discover the magic of storytelling with our new Children’s Creative Books on Bushfire Smoke and Health Protection!

In response to the devastating 2019/20 bushfires, our dedicated researchers from CAIS, NCEPH and the School of Medicine and Psychology identified a gap in resources addressing bushfire smoke specifically. Collaborating with talented authors and illustrators, we have created two enchanting books that guide young readers through the challenges and solutions related to bushfire smoke.

Shirin and Amir and the Dragon Smoke, a picture book by Liz Drummond and Jemima Shafei-Ongu, illustrated by Magie Khameneh
Captain Nadia and the Can Do Crew, an early reader by Inda Ahmad Zahri and Andrea Baldwin, illustrated by Anil Tortop.

On behalf of the Project Lead, Professor Karima Laachir, we would like to invite you to join the launch by registering via Humanitix to enjoy reading, interactive activities, and meet the authors and illustrators behind these inspiring stories.
