The history, society and culture of the Middle East and Central Asia influence many parts of the world, including Australia. Events in the region often have global significance, and are central to an understanding of a number of key issues in international affairs. The Bachelor of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies at ANU takes you through the topics, debates and developments in the Middle East and Central Asia. You will study the socio-cultural, political, historical and economic structures of these regions and develop comprehensive knowledge of their relationship to global trends. In order to further engage with the history and culture of the regions, you will have the opportunity to study a Middle Eastern or Central Asian language.
