Call for Paper | Symposium on Islamic Finance in Australia
We are pleased to invite submissions for the “Symposium on Islamic Finance in Australia,” scheduled for 30 November 2023, organised by the ANU Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies. This call is open to scholars, practitioners, and other interested parties to submit abstracts centred around Islamic finance and its integration within the Australian financial, taxation, and legal landscapes. We are particularly interested in papers that address, but are not limited to, the following topics: Recent trends and developments in Islamic finance and banking Distinctive attributes of Islamic financial and banking products The challenges and prospects of Islamic finance in Australia The implications of the Australian taxation and legal frameworks on Islamic finance International best practices in Islamic finance’s taxation and legal frameworks Sustainable and ethical solutions in Islamic banking Collaborations and strategic partnerships within the Islamic finance industry Innovation, financial technology, tokenisation, and decentralisation within Islamic finance Applications of Halal blockchain technology Submission Guidelines: Abstracts must not exceed 350 words and should outline the research question, employed methodology, key findings, and their implications.
