Anna Baltzer’s presentation “Life in Occupied Palestine: Eye Witness Stories and Photos” provides an introduction to everyday life and the nonviolent movement for freedom and equality in the occupied territories. Through personal stories, Anna describes the human rights abuses Palestinians face daily in the Israeli-occupied West Bank: the endless wait at checkpoints, the home demolitions to make way for illegal Israeli settlements and the Separation Wall, the impact on the environment and the struggle to maintain dignity in everyday life. She focuses on the steadfastness and courage of ordinary Palestinians as well as Israeli activism and what can be done globally towards taking informed action.
