CAIS is fortunate to have several generous donors in the fields of Masters in Middle East and Central Asian Studies, Persian language and Iranian Studies. As a result there have been prizes awarded to students over several years. In 2014 the following prizes were awarded:
Khalifa Al-Falasi Prize
The Al-Falasi Prize is awarded annually to the student with the best overall results in a Master of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies - Advanced. In 2014 the prize was awarded to Mr Dean Fitzgibbon.
Hafez Prize and Khayyam Prize
The Sa’id Foundation for the Promotion of Persian language and literature has donated two prizes of $500 to be awarded annually to two students with the best overall marks in Introductory or Intermediate Persian language. The winners of these prizes for 2014 are Mr Simon Quinn and Mr Cameron Brady.
Hashem Etminan Prize
Dr Hashem Etminan, Chief Executive of the Iranian/Persian Cultural Foundation in Canberra, has donated a prize for the subject of Iranian history and Culture. The prize of $400 is awarded annually to the student who achieves the best result in Iranian History and Culture. The winner of the prize for 2014 is Ms Sama Noor Khan.
