Dr Mustafa Murat Yurtbilir

Dr. Mustafa Murat Yurtbilir has a BA in International Relations and Political Science from Bogaziçi University, Istanbul. He holds an MA in International Relations from Istanbul University, and MSc in Development Studies from Uppsala University, Sweden. He completed his PhD in International Relations at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara.
Dr Yurtbilir was the lecturer and the convenor of the Turkish Program of Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Australian National University. He lectured at the Cyprus American University in Kyrenia, Istanbul Işık University, Istanbul Gedik University and was a visiting fellow at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, UNSW Canberra, and the Australian National University.
Dr Yurtbilir worked as consultant in several EU-funded projects and as a senior information officer at the European Union Information Centre Ankara under the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey.
Dr. Yurtbilir received an Associate Degree in Foreign Trade in 2004 and Associate Degree in Media and Communication in 2022, both from Anadolu University, Turkey, a Certificate 4 in Business in 2019 from Canberra Institute of Technology. He has the certificate of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language from Istanbul University.
Dr. Yurtbilir’s main interests are Turkish political movements, Turkish domestic and foreign policy, Middle Eastern Studies, international relations, and nationalism theories.
