Studying Turkish language at CAIS has been an invaluable learning experience for me. Even though I had no knowledge of Turkish before joining the course, I can now confidently speak and understand Turkish for daily conversation. Moreover, the lecturer explained the course in a very clear and fun way. The lecturer also provided great feedback and encouragement every week.

I also enjoyed the content I gained from taking 'Turkish History: Ottoman State to Modern Turkey (MEAS3006/6006). In this course, the lecturer also shared much about Turkish culture, culinary and Turkish artifacts. Even though the courses were online, the course content provided in the seminars and tutorials were very interactive. I found that learning basic Turkish while studying the history and politics was very useful. For that reason, learning a language by understanding the culture and history makes the experience extremely practical and useful, especially if you are studying Middle Eastern Studies. The course exceeded my expectations significantly.
